Shiretoko 3.5

Shiretoko is Mozilla’s development codename for the Firefox 3.5 branch, used for pre-release testing and nightly builds in 2008–2009. It showcased key features destined for the stable browser, including the TraceMonkey JavaScript JIT for faster performance, support for HTML5 audio and video, Private Browsing, geolocation, and improved standards compliance. Intended for developers and testers rather than everyday users, Shiretoko builds helped stabilize the code before the official Firefox 3.5 release. The name follows Mozilla’s tradition of park-themed codenames and refers to Shiretoko National Park in Hokkaido, Japan.
